Project Bacon.

An open AI-visibility benchmark for the questions a Barrie business owner asks before choosing a marketing or SEO partner.

The finding

Offline reach did not translate into AI recommendations.

Flying Pigs Marketing was measured across high-intent Barrie agency queries. The benchmark found 8% named visibility: one mention in the tracked results, no appearance in SEO-intent queries, and one citation out of 111 total citations recorded.

Where citations went instead

The report logged 52 citation domains. The highest-frequency sources included agencies.semrush.com (six citations); bedigitalgiants.com, clicktecs.com, gilmedia.com, hellodarwin.com and thriveagency.com (five each); and kinexmedia.com and morismedia.in (four each). The pattern is practical: answer engines had third-party directory, review and agency-profile material to retrieve.

Reproducible method

The source data came from DataForSEO's LLM module. The collection used structured LLM-answer data to measure brand mentions and cited sources across the reported Barrie queries and platforms. This is not a manual screenshot exercise: DataForSEO's LLM Mentions API supports analysis of brand and website mentions, citations and AI-search metrics, with platform, language and location parameters recorded by the request.

The original report summarizes 26 prompts tracked, 52 citation domains and 111 citations. It also describes 13 returned answers across the reported engine runs. Those summary counts are preserved here as reported. Future Project Bacon runs will publish the per-run prompt, platform, location, response date, named brands and cited domains so every aggregate can be checked.

This is a point-in-time benchmark, not an allegation of wrongdoing or a guarantee of future results. DataForSEO measurements and consumer AI products can vary by platform, location, language, retrieval and time. The original report was delivered June 22, 2026; this public summary intentionally omits personal contact details.
